NMSU gets No. 13 seed, will play Indiana
LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- After winnings its second WAC tournament championship in three years, the New Mexico State men's basketball team will face No. 15 Indiana in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Thursday in Portland, Ore.
The Aggies (26-9, 10-4 WAC) are a No. 13 seed in the South Regional, while the Hoosiers (25-8, 11-7 Big Ten) are a No. 4 seed. NMSU is making the 19th NCAA tournament appearance in school history after winning the WAC tournament Saturday night with an 82-57 victory over Louisiana Tech.
Indiana enters the tournament off a 79-71 loss to Wisconsin on Friday in the Big Ten tournament. This will be the second meeting between the Aggies and Hoosiers; Indiana won the first meeting 74-68 in Bloomington, Ind., on Dec. 7, 1961.
Tickets for the NCAA tournament will go on sale Monday. Season-ticket holders and Aggie Athletic Club members will be able to order tickets from 8 a.m. to noon, with any remaining seats going on sale at noon Monday through the Pan American Center ticket office at 575-646-1420.
