NFL should keep a tight count on Super Bowl attendance

As much as we Texans love big things, we like authenticity even more.

The NFL should keep that in mind as it weighs whether to count party plaza tickets outside Cowboys Stadium toward Super Bowl XLV's official attendance count.

To count people who can't even see the field with their own eyes is fraudulent.

It's been heavily reported that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones would love to break the Super Bowl attendance record of 103,985 set at the Rose Bowl in 1980.

The Cowboys were able to top that mark with 105,121 for the stadium's first NFL regular-season game in 2009. About 30,000 standing-room-only "Party Pass" tickets helped set that record, but since then the fire marshal has limited SRO tickets to 14,400 for safety reasons.

The NFL has added temporary Super Bowl seating in the end zone areas where the Party Pass crowd normally gathers. Because of that, only 320 inside-the-stadium SRO tickets will be sold at a healthy $350 each
