New developments alter Cowboys' search for coordinators

A tumultuous day ended Thursday with the Cowboys looking at the possibility of having one of the flamboyant Ryan brothers as their defensive coordinator.
The Cowboys received permission from Cleveland to interview Rob Ryan today. Ryan, whose twin brother, Rex, is the New York Jets' head coach, has one year remaining on his contract with the Browns but is not wanted by the new regime of coach Pat Shurmur.
The Cowboys also received permission to interview Pittsburgh secondary coach Ray Horton, who has never been a coordinator. These moves reflected the Cowboys' growing belief that their first three candidates Vic Fangio, Greg Manusky and Paul Pasqualoni
