New Delhi gets clearance to host WT20 semifinal next week

NEW DELHI (AP) The Delhi and District Cricket Association says it has received municipal clearances for Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium to host the World Twenty20 semifinal on March 30.

The International Cricket Council threatened to move the match if the section reserved for media and VIPs in the main stand was not available. The section received only ad hoc clearances over the years because it was close to the Kotla Baoli heritage site.

But DDCA vice president Chetan Chauhan says on Wednesday the ''clearance was obtained.''

The Delhi High Court this week refused to intervene after being approached by the DDCA.
