NBA Summer League recap: Suns 106, Bucks 80

The Milwaukee Bucks continued their impressive play from the day before, when they beat the Houston Rockets in the first game of the winner's round of the Summer League tournament, but only for a half on Thursday.

The Bucks jumped out to a 25-19 first-quarter lead and led the Phoenix Suns, 52-50, at halftime. But they were outscored 58-28 in the second half and lost by 26 points.

First-round pick Rashad Vaughn scored 10 points in the first half and finished with 17. Kevin Jones added 15 points for Milwaukee. T.J. Warren scored a game-high 23 for Phoenix.

Starting five: The Bucks started Vaughn, Jorge Gutierrez and Sean Kilpatrick in the backcourt, with Jones and Michael Eric in the frontcourt. Damien Inglis did not play due to injury.

The Vaughn report: Vaughn, the Bucks' first-round draft pick earlier this summer, played 30 minutes, 53 seconds against the Suns. The UNLV product connected on six of 17 field-goal attempts and buried two of six 3-point attempts. Vaughn also had four rebounds, one assist and committed two turnovers.

Stat corner: The Bucks made only 12 of 21 free throws (57.1 percent) . . . As a team Milwaukee made 31 of 78 shots (39.7 percent) and six of 19 3-pointers (31.6 percent) . . . They were out-assisted by the Suns 24 to 14 and only Gutierrez (with six) had more than two.
