NAU dominates Fort Lewis in 69-0 blowout

Bauman, who led the Lumberjacks (2-1) with 136 yards rushing, scored on a 75-yard run on NAU's first play from scrimmage to make it 7-0 just 11 seconds into the game, and he added a 26-yard touchdown later in the first quarter. In the second, Cartwright found Ify Umodu and Covaughn DeBoskie-Johnson for scores before giving way to Perry, who threw another TD pass to DeBoskie-Johnson for a 48-0 halftime lead.

Umodu caught another TD pass from Perry in the third quarter before Jahn, who ran for 111 yards, got his two scores. Austin Shanks added a 74-yard punt return for a touchdown.

“We came out and wanted to play consistent and play without mistakes and turnovers,” said NAU coach Jerome Souers. “We played consistent on defense. I was excited to see backups at every position come in and contribute.”

NAU, after upsetting UNLV last week, held the Division II Skyhawks (0-2) to 122 yards of total offense while totaling 346 yards on the ground.

It was the largest margin of victory in a shutout win for the Lumberjacks since they opened the 1996 season with a 75-0 victory against Western New Mexico,
