Nation's top shooting guard commits to Ohio State
Ohio State basketball got a boost Friday night with the verbal commitment of D'Angelo Russell, the nation's No. 1 shooting guard prospect for 2014 according to Scout.com.
Russell, a 6-4, 180-pounder who plays at Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla., picked the Buckeyes over interest from programs including Indiana, Georgetown, Michigan State and defending national champion Louisville.
The five-star prospect is the fourth player to commit to Ohio State head coach Thad Matta for 2014, joining four-star forwards Keita Bates-Diop of Normal (Ill.) University High School and Jae'sean Tate of Pickerington (Ohio) Central and three-star center Dave Bell of Garfield Heights, Ohio.
