Nashoba's Gold wins Honeymoon Stakes at Santa Anita

Nashoba's Gold won the $200,250 Honeymoon Stakes by a length at Santa Anita on Sunday for her second straight stakes victory.

Ridden by Joe Talamo, Nashoba's Gold ran 1-1/8 miles on the turf in 1:48.61 and paid $3.40 to win as the odds-on favorite.

Sweet Bliss, the longest shot in the field of six at 29-1, was second. Diversy Harbor was another nose back in third.

Nashoba's Gold earned $120,000 for the victory, her third win in four career starts for the gray filly trained by Carla Gaines.

''We had a great trip,'' said Talamo, who rode sister Nashoba's Key to his first Grade 1 win when he was 17. ''Once you get the momentum going, she's like a freight train. She was amazing. I never did hit her. I just urged her a little bit, and once she got in front, she just coasted home.''
