NASCAR meets NFL: Harvick, others cheer on Carolina Panthers

It's no secret that many drivers and other personnel involved in NASCAR are huge fans of the Carolina Panthers.

Many of those employed in NASCAR keep their homes in the Charlotte, N.C., area.

So it was no surprise that several showed their heartfelt support during Saturday's NFL wild-card playoff game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.

Among those in attendance were 2014 Sprint Cup champion Kevin Harvick, his wife DeLana and the crew chief for his No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet, Rodney Childers.

Judging by their postings on Twitter and Instagram, the Harvicks and Childers were pumped before the game even began.

Cheering on from Hawaii, where he was on his honeymoon, was Richard Childress Racing Xfinity Series driver Ty Dillon. Although obviously busy with other more important things, Ty did take time out from celebrating his marriage to wife Haley to push the retweet button on this RCR tweet.

Ty's older brother, Austin, who drives the No. 3 RCR Chevy in the Sprint Cup Series, also is a huge Panthers' fans who took to Twitter to show his support for the team.

It all worked out well, too, when the Panthers, who finished the regular season with a record of 7-8-1 yet won the NFC South division title, knocked off the Cardinals, who went 11-5 in the regular season.
