M's Wilhelmsen defies elimination with 'Turn Down for What' dance
Midway through its Sunday contest against the Angels, the Mariners learned that the slumping Oakland A's had squashed their playoffs aspirations with a win over the Rangers.
Seattle (87-75 and winners of its final four games) did not control its own destiny, but you know who's the master of his own domain? Yeah, Mariners relief pitcher Tom Wilhelmsen.
You can't keep a good man or a sick dancer down for too long. Wilhelmsen won't turn down for anything.
Looks like he managed to give his teammates a smile despite the disappointing conclusion to the season.
It's not Wilhelmsen's first rodeo, either. Here he is during batting practice in July with his pitching coach Rick Waits.
Wilhelmsen puts the comic in relief pitcher. (Groan.)
