Moustakas out of Royals lineup one day after being hit by pitch
BOSTON - Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas was not in the starting lineup against Boston, a day after he was hit by a pitch from Eduardo Rodriguez.
The Royals said Moustakas had a bruised right forearm after Monday's game.
"Probably could play today, if there was a righty on the mound," Royals manager Ned Yost said before Tuesday's game against Red Sox left-hander Chris Sale. "Sale's pretty tough on lefties right now."
Moose is out of the lineup tonight for the #Royals, but Ned Yost says he is progressing well after taking a pitch near the forearm last night: "There's a good chance he could be back tomorrow, and if not absolutely a 100 percent chance when we get home." pic.twitter.com/GqjG7vyjQt

Yost was unsure whether Moustakas would return to the lineup for Wednesday's final of the three-game series. The Royals host Detroit on Thursday.
"He was really sore last night, and he made progress today," Yost said. "We'll see how he feels. There's a good chance he could be back tomorrow, but, if not, absolutely 100 percent chance at home."
Moustakas is hitting .302 with eight homers and 19 RBIs in 28 games this season.
