Minnesota United unveils kit for inaugural MLS season
The Minnesota United officially released their jersey kit Friday evening. And as the kids say, the kit is "straight fire."
The team will debut the new kits in its MLS opening game on March 3 against the Portland Timbers. Portland finished last season in seventh place in the Western Conference but won the MLS Cup in 2015.
The United play their home opener on March 12 against Major League Soccer's other newest franchise, the Atlanta United, and all season long at TCF Bank Stadium.
The Atlanta United wasted no time releasing its jerseys for the upcoming season and have already worn them in preseason games.
But the Minnesota United's new kits were worth the wait.
As the smoke cleared at the unveiling event, fans eventually spotted white jerseys with grey and blue shoulders, a long-sleeved blue jersey with shoulder stripes and grey jerseys with a thick blue diagonal stripe across the chest-- all three emblazoned with the distinctive bullseye logo of corporate sponsor Target in the center of the chest.
