Mike Trout wasn't going to gift this grand slam on his birthday
Maybe it's because it was his birthday or maybe it's because Ken Griffey Jr. was in the house but Mike Trout absolutely robbed this potential grand slam.
Locked in a 1-1 tie with bases loaded and nobody out, Mariners center fielder Leonys Martin probably thought he'd given his team a 4-1 lead the second this ball left his bat.
That's center fielder on center fielder crime right there. Trout jumped head and shoulders above wall to rob that potential grand slam and did well to hold on as he came down.
The only thing better than the catch, might have been Martin's reaction after.
Better luck next time.
