Midweek Stock Report: Giannis accomplishes another rare feat

Every Wednesday, FOX Sports Wisconsin takes a look at which athletes' stock is trending up and whose is trending down.

In other words, who is making a meteoric rise, and who is quickly plummeting.

With that in mind, let's "take stock" of the current sports scene in Wisconsin, shall we?

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks forward

Yeah, we could probably have Antetokounmpo in here every week, but when he does something special he has to be included. Tuesday against Cleveland, "The Greek Freak" posted this line: 34 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Since 1985-86, he is just the third Milwaukee player to have 30+ points, 10+ rebounds, 5+ assists and 5+ steals in a game, joining Alvin Robertson and Terry Cummings.

Davante Adams, Packers wide receiver

The third-year wide receiver has already set career highs for catches (58), receiving yards (776) and touchdowns (8 -- doubling his previous career total). Against Philadelphia, Adams had five catches for 113 yards and two touchdowns, his third 100-yard game of the season, all of which have occurred in the past six games.

Nigel Hayes, Badgers forward

While he's still struggling with his shot (40.0 percent from the field), Hayes has found other ways to contribute, as demonstrated by his game Tuesday against Syracuse when he nearly had a triple-double, recording 9 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds. Hayes is just the fourth Badgers player since 1996 to have 10+ assists in a game, joining Josh Gasser and Jordan Taylor, who also had 10, and Mike Kelley, who had 12.

Ethan Happ, Badgers forward

Unlike the senior Hayes, Happ, a sophomore, is not having a problem putting the ball in the basket. He has made at least half his shots in all eight Wisconsin games this season and has made 61.5 percent or better in all but one. Against Syracuse he made a season-high 10 field goals on 12 shots (83.3 percent). Happ also has back-to-back double-doubles, giving him three on the season.

Eric Thames, Brewers first baseman

Welcome back to The Show. After spending three years in Korea, Thames is now scheduled to be Milwaukee's first baseman after signing a three-year contract with the Brewers. Welcome back, indeed.

Steve Novak, Bucks forward

Novak got into just his second game of the year on Tuesday but missed his only shot, leaving him 0 for 2 on the season. It'll come in a flurry, right Steve?

Adam Walker, Brewers outfielder

Walker was recently claimed off waivers from Minnesota, a homecoming for the Milwaukee native. Walker was excited for the chance to play for his hometown team … and then he was designated for assignment after the team signed Thames. There's still hope, though, as general manager David Stearns indicated the club would like to keep Walker in the organization if he goes unclaimed.
