Middle Tennessee routs Fisk 115-65

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- Shawn Jones scored 18 points in 18 minutes to lead seven Middle Tennessee players who scored in double digits Monday night in a 115-65 victory over Fisk.

Middle Tennessee (7-2) broke the game open with a 26-8 run in the first half and never looked back. The Blue Raiders shot 61.8 percent from the field while holding Fisk to 30.3 percent.

Joshua Phillips had 13 points and eight rebounds, and Kerry Hammonds II had 12 points and seven assists for Middle Tennessee. The Blue Raiders had 31 assists compared to only four by Fisk and outrebounded the NAIA Bulldogs 53-31.

Fisk (6-7) played evenly with Middle Tennessee over the first six-plus minutes. They were tied 14-14 before Middle Tennessee ran away with the game in the first meeting between the two programs. Austin Watkins led Fisk with 18 points.
