Miami's Jim Larranaga named ACC's coach of the year

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- Virginia's Malcolm Brogdon is the Atlantic Coast Conference's player of the year.

The league announced its postseason awards Sunday following a vote of 51 members of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.

Miami's Jim Larranaga edged Buzz Williams of Virginia Tech for coach of the year honors while Brandon Ingram became the third straight Duke player to win the league's freshman of the year award.

Brogdon and North Carolina forward Brice Johnson were the two unanimous selections to the all-ACC first team. They were joined by Anthony "Cat" Barber of North Carolina State, Duke's Grayson Allen and Clemson's Jaron Blossomgame.

Brogdon -- also chosen as the league's defensive player of the year -- received 38 votes for player of the year to nine for Johnson, three for Barber and one for Allen.
