2011 in review: Durbin was 2-2 with a 5.53 ERA in 56 games for the Cleveland Indians. He led the team’s relievers with 68 1/3 innings.

Career highlight: Durbin helped the Phillies win the 2008 World Series by going 5-4 with his first career save while pitching in a career-high 71 games and leading NL relievers with 87 2/3 innings.

Outlook: Braves GM Frank Wren wanted another veteran arm for the bullpen, so when the Nationals released Durbin, the Braves signed him to a one-year deal. He had a 2.35 ERA in 15 1/3 innings with the Nationals in spring training. Rookie left-hander Yohan Flande was sent to Triple-A Gwinnett to make room for Durbin.

You should know: Durbin is a former starter who is 38-46 with a 5.10 ERA in his career, but was most effective working out of the bullpen with the Phillies from 2008-10. He was 11-8 with three saves with Philadelphia.
