McDermott helps Creighton roll over Wichita St.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Doug McDermott scored 41 points in what might have been his last home game for Creighton, and the Bluejays shot 70 percent while winning the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championship with a 91-79 victory over Wichita State on Saturday.

Fans in the sellout crowd of 18,613 chanted "One more year! One more year!" after McDermott completed a three-point play late in the game and gave him a standing ovation as he went to the bench with 29 seconds left.

Ethan Wragge made back-to-back 3s to start an 11-2 spurt that broke open a three-point game and made it 66-54.

McDermott, a junior who is projected to be a late first-round pick if he declares for the NBA draft, made his first eight shots from the field.

Austin Chatman and Grant Gibbs added 12 points apiece for Creighton (24-7, 13-5).

Demetric Williams had 18 points to lead the Shockers (24-7, 12-6).
