Mayfield named Big 12 Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Oklahoma junior quarterback Baker Mayfield was named the Big 12 Conference co-offensive player of the week after setting a Sooner offensive record.

Mayfield accounted for 572 yards of offense, most by an FBS player this season and most in school history in the 52-38 win over Tulsa. TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin shared the honor with Mayfield.

Mayfield was 32-of-38 passing for 487 yards. He ran for 85 yards on 13 carries and accounted for six touchdowns.

Mayfield was also the Big 12 Conference offensive player of the week in 2013 after his first collegiate start, leading Texas Tech to a victory.

Mayfield is the first player since 2000 to have three passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in each of the first three games of the season. Mayfield ranks first among FBS players in total offense (400.3). He also has 10 touchdown passes and just two interceptions, throwing for 1,062 yards.
