Matt Hasselbeck was completely flattered by his random drug test
The NFL's drug policy applies universally to linebackers, punters and veteran quarterbacks — including 38-year-old Colts backup Matt Hasselbeck.
On Thursday, Hasselbeck's number came up and the league's medical team asked him for a sample.
But the 17-year pro did not consider the supposed random testing a nuisance. In fact, he was quite flattered to be selected at all.
Unlike Saints QB Drew Brees, who got tested twice after saying he thought he could play until age 45, Hasselbeck has said he plans to retire after this season or next.
All in all, it sounded like a smooth, uplifting experience. Can't wait for the five-star Yelp review.
