Marquette's Legends Classic schedule finalized

The championship-round schedule has been announced for the ninth annual Legends Classic, which will feature Marquette's men's basketball squad.

Marquette is set to take on LSU in one of the event's championship-round contests, with North Carolina State vying with Arizona State in the other championship-round tilt. Those games are scheduled for Nov. 23-24, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The event's games will be televised on ESPN networks.

The four aforementioned teams have combined for 92 NCAA tournament appearances and eight Final Fours. Each will host a pair of regional-round games before heading to Brooklyn.

The four regional-round hosts will be joined in the Legends Classic by Belmont, IUPUI, Kennesaw State, and South Alabama.

Marquette's clash with LSU will pit a Golden Eagles squad with one of the program's best recruiting classes ever against an LSU outfit coming off a 22-win season and an appearance in the NCAA tournament. LSU will feature 6-foot-10 prized recruit Ben Simmons, a recent National High School Player of the Year.

The Golden Eagles will take on Belmont in the Legends Classic's initial regional-round game at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, on Nov. 13. Then, Marquette will host IUPUI on Nov. 16 before taking on LSU in Brooklyn, at 6 p.m. on Nov. 23. The event's "championship doubleheader" will tip off at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 at Barclays Center.

Marquette will be making its first appearance in the Legends Classic.
