Lynx's Maya Moore, Sylvia Fowles named All-Star Game starters

The Minnesota Lynx will once again be well-represented at the WNBA All-Star Game.

Forward Maya Moore and center Sylvia Fowles are set to start for the Western Conference All-Star team after being the top-two winners in the frontcourt a weighted combination of three polls: a fan vote, media vote and player vote.

The game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 22 in Seattle.

In a significant change from last year's balloting, the fan vote accounted for 50 percent of the overall vote, while the player and media vote accounted for 25 percent each.

Moore finished first in the fan vote, second in the player vote and fourth in the media vote, while Fowles finished first in both the player and media vote, and third in the fan vote.

Fowles leads the Lynx in scoring at 20.1 points per game and is shooting a career-high 66.3 percent this season while averaging 10.1 rebounds, 1.93 blocks and 1.7 assists, and is the only player to rank in the top five league-wide in those five categories.

Moore earned her fifth All-Star Game start after averaging 15.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists during the first half of the season.

Seimone Augustus finished third in the Western Conference backcourt voting, while Lindsay Whalen ranked sixth.
