Love sets NBA record for most points in a first quarter

After five days in of rest in between games, Kevin Love was clearly itching to get back out on the court.

In a barrage of scoring to open up Wednesday night's game, the third-year Cavalier knocked down his first five shots from deep and his first six shots overall.

Love finished the first quarter with 34 points, the most in the history of the NBA and Cleveland's franchise. He went 8 of 10 from three and set the record for most treys in a single quarter in Cavalier lore as well.

The California native etched his name in the books with the second-highest scoring total in a single quarter, surpassing the legendary George Gervin, Carmelo Anthony and David Thompson.
