Lions claim Isa Abdul-Quddus off waivers

The Detroit Lions claimed Isa Abdul-Quddus, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound safety, off waivers from the New Orleans Saints.

Abdul-Quddus, 24, played in 42 games and made four starts in three seasons with the Saints. He was undrafted coming out of Fordham in 2011.

Most of Abdul-Quddus' playing time this past season came on special teams.

The Lions are looking for depth in their secondary, which has been one of the team’s weak links in recent years.
