LeBron surpasses Ray Allen on NBA scoring list

CLEVELAND -- With 24,508 career points, LeBron James has surpassed Ray Allen for 21st on the NBA's all-time scoring list. James accomplished the feat Tuesday in the Cavaliers' 110-79 rout of the visiting Boston Celtics.

James moved ahead of Allen on a layup with 7:49 remaining in the third quarter. The basket gave James his 24th and 25th points of the night. He finished with 27 (including 21 in the first half) before sitting out the entire fourth quarter.

James entered Tuesday averaging 30.4 points in 37 career games against the Celtics -- his highest scoring average against any team.

The Cavs (38-24), who led by as many as 44 points vs. the Celtics, have won 19 of 23.
