'LeBron before LeBron': Documentary on LA hoops legend Schea Cotton premieres Jan. 30
Don't know, or remember, the story Los Angeles prep basketball legend of Schea Cotton? He was LeBron James before LeBron James.
'Manchild: The Schea Cotton Story', which premieres on Jan. 30 at a private screening and will also be shown during the NBA All-Star Game in Toronto, tells the story of Cotton's rapid rise to the top of the basketball world ... as an eighth grader in the early 1990s.
Though he didn't make it in the NBA, Cotton's impact on the basketball world is undeniable -- just check out these highlights!
In 'Manchild', Baron Davis, Tyson Chandler, Elton Brand, Paul Pierce, Randy Moss and others share their tales about Cotton, named the 1995 CIF State Player of the Year while at Mater Dei. Cotton, who spent his final two high school years at St. John Bosco, also earned Parade All-American and McDonald's All-American honors while in high school.
Cotton is currently the CEO of the Schea Cotton Basketball Academy (SCBA).
