LaVine scores 30, but Timberwolves fall to Hornets in preseason game

Zach LaVine scored a game-high 30 points, but the Minnesota Timberwolves lost their second preseason game 98-86 to the Charlotte Hornets on Monday.

Minnesota led 54-47 at halftime behind 23 points from LaVine before Charlotte came back in the second half. Shabazz Muhammad scored 12 points for the Timberwolves, who shot 34.7 percent from the floor.

Frank Kaminsky led Charlotte with 17 points, while Jeremy Lamb scored 16, Kemba Walker scored 15, Nicolas Batum scored 13 and Marvin Williams scored 11. Spencer Hawes grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Timberwolves continue their preseason schedule on Wednesday vs. the Denver Nuggets in Lincoln, Neb.
