Late TD gives NMSU victory over Georgia St.

ATLANTA -- Tyler Rogers hit Teldrick Morgan with an 11-yard touchdown pass with 15 seconds remaining to lift New Mexico State to a 34-31 victory Saturday over Georgia State for the Aggies' first Sun Belt victory since leaving the conference after the 2004 season.

On third-and-9 from the Georgia State 11, Rogers hit Morgan across the middle for the winning score.

The Panthers (1-1, 0-1) were seeking their first Sun Belt victory after going winless last year in their FBS transition season, and they almost got it with Nick Arbuckle scoring on a fourth-down sneak with 2:30 left.

Rogers passed for three touchdowns, two to Morgan.

Trailing 24-10, Rogers rallied the Aggies (2-0, 1-0) with a pair of touchdown passes sandwiched around a field goal by Maxwell Johnson to take its first lead, 27-24, with 8:04 remaining in the game.

Krysten Hammon ran for 123 yards and two scores for Georgia State.
