Larkin, Concepcion to throw out first pitches at Reds opener

Dave Concepcion and Barry Larkin made plenty of Opening Day memories in Cincinnati at shortstop. This year, the two legendary Reds captains will get to test their fastballs.

Concepcion and Larkin will throw out simultaneous pitches before the Reds' March 31 opener vs. the Cardinals, the team announced Tuesday.

It will be a big day for Concepcion, who is also serving as the grand marshal of the Findlay Market Opening Day Parade.

Larkin and Concepcion are both Reds lifers, each retiring after spending 19 seasons with the club.

Reds Opening Day coverage on FOX Sports Ohio kicks off at 9 a.m. First pitch for the game is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. You can join the conversation by using #RedsOpeningDay.
