Kopitar leaves Kings' game with upper body injury

Anze Kopitar left the Kings' game Sunday with an upper body injury, but the extent of the injury is unknown.

There's precious little information about Kopitar's injury and the extent of it. Kopitar, the winger and assistant captain for the Kings, was injured in a collision behind the net in the second period of the Kings' 5-2 win over Columbus at Staples Center.

Asked how Kopitar was after the game, Kings coach Darryl Sutter said: "he's all right."

The Kings are headed on a five-game road trip that starts on Tuesday. Asked if he would make the trip, Sutter said: "he's all right."

A Kings official confirmed that Kopitar sustained an upper body injury. Kopitar was injured in the second period. He had 10:39 in ice time and didn't play at all in the third period.

Kopitar has three points for the Kings (6-1-1) this season, including two goals and an assist.

"I didn't even know he wasn't on the ice until a couple shifts later and someone asked me about it," Pearson said. "Someone asked me where he was, and I didn't know what happened or see the play."
