Pietrangelo was placed on injured reserve Monday. He suffered the injury in the third period of the Blues' 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday when he had a knee-on-knee collision with Minnesota's Charlie Coyle. He skated off the ice on his own power after being examined but did not return to the game.
Pietrangelo's knee will be re-evaluated in three weeks.
Hitchcock: "This isn't forever. It's not a three-month injury. If we have the right attitude, we think we can handle this." #stlblues

Among the team's defensemen, Pietrangelo is second to Kevin Shattenkirk with 23 points (three goals, 20 assists). He is third among all Blues players with 139 shots on goal, surpassed only by forwards Vladimir Tarasenko (192) and Alexander Steen (148).
