Kings Hall of Fame broadcaster to take medical leave

Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Miller will take a leave of absence due to medical reasons, the Los Angeles Kings announced on Wednesday.

Miller, a Kings mainstay since 1973, will undergo heart bypass surgery. A date has yet to be announced for the broadcaster's return to the Kings TV booth.

In regards to the news Kings President, Business Operations Luc Robitaille had this to say:

"Like all Kings fans we wish Bob a safe and speedy recovery. We look forward to hearing his familiar voice on our broadcasts again real soon but it is important that Bob take his time to recover as his health is the top priority."

In Miller's absence, Hall of Fame Kings radio announcer Nick Nickson will join TV analyst Jim Fox during the team's broadcasts on FOX Sports West. Nickson and Fox's first game together on the call will be against Arizona on Feb. 2.
