Kevin Durant congratulates Seattle fans for Super Bowl win

The SuperSonics may have not worked out in Seattle, but now, they have the Super Bowl XLVIII champs Seahawks. The win Sunday marked the first championship won by a major Seattle sports franchise since the SuperSonics captured the NBA title in 1979.

And nobody deserves the win more than the Seattle fans, according to Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant. Durant tweeted his congratulations to the fan base following Sunday'€™s win.

Durant was drafted in 2007 by the SuperSonics, but only played in Seattle one season before the franchise relocated to OKC, but Mr. Nice Guy Durant is still giving out his respect to the city that gave him his start.

Prior to the game, though, it didn'€™t appear Durant had a favorite in the contest. He sent out a photo of his Super Bowl-watching setup which of course included theater seating and a big screen TV. Durant captioned the photo #Omaha in reference to the Broncos'€™ Peyton Manning and #LOB which stands for Legion of Boom or what the Seahawks call their secondary.

Of course, Durant is a well-known Washington Redskins fan, so he surely would have rather seen Robert Griffin III & Co. in the big game. Oh well. If you can'€™t beat them, join them!
