Jon Lester tweets about first career hit, .031 batting average
It took nine-plus season, but Cubs pitcher Jon Lester finally got his first Major League hit on Monday.
The left-hander is now 1-for-68 in his career (.015), but he's focusing on his more impressive batting average for the 2015 season.
Would've been nice to cap off my 1st hit with a W but at least we're off the schnide, .031 never looked so good! Let's play 2 today! #NVRQT

In fitting fashion, Lester's hit was a hard groundball up the middle that hit off Cardinals pitcher John Lackey and dribbled away to an unoccupied spot on the infield.
Jon Lester was very thankful for his first big-league hit.
