Jets' Schottenheimer interviews with Jaguars

New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer was in Jacksonville to interview for the Jaguars' head coaching job on Friday.

The Jets gave him permission to interview when they received the request from the Jaguars on Jan. 2.

Schottenheimer has been under fire in New York, where the Jets missed the postseason for the first time in three years under coach Rex Ryan.

Schottenheimer will return to the Jets as offensive coordinator next season if he doesn't receive a head coach position. He withdrew from consideration for the Florida offensive coordinator job on Thursday.
