Jackets announce 2012 preseason schedule

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets will play a nine-game preseason schedule, including four home games at Nationwide Arena, prior to their 12th National Hockey League season, the club announced today. The Blue Jackets open preseason play by hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins at Nationwide Arena on Monday, September 24.  The home preseason slate also includes visits by the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday, September 26; Washington Capitals on Monday, October 1 and Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, October 2. Columbus will be featured in a pair of games in non-traditional NHL markets as the club plays the Capitals at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland on Wednesday, September 26 and faces off against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Kraft Hockeyville 2012 at Stirling Recreation Centre in Stirling, Ontario on Wednesday, October 3.
