Indians' Urshela makes fantastic play to throw out Yankees' Gardner

Cleveland Indians third baseman Giovanny Urshela made a spectacular play Tuesday night to throw New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner out from foul territory along the third baseline.

Up 2-0 in the top of the fourth inning, Urshela fielded Gardner's grounder down the third baseline and threw him out from foul territory. 

According to MLB Statcast, Urshela made his first step in 0.21 seconds, covering nearly 14 feet with a route efficiency of 99.6 percent on the throw.

Urshela, along with Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor, have dramatically improved the Indians defense. Last season, the Indians were among the worst teams in baseball with -75 defensive runs saved (DRS), whereas this year, the Indians have 4 defensive runs saved.

This season, Urshela is batting .242 with a .274 OBP and .346 SLG. In 182 at-bats, Urshela has 44 hits, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs and 13 RBI.
