Hurricanes down Stetson
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- Adrian Thomas scored 13 points and Malcolm Grant added 11 to lead a balanced attack for the Miami Hurricanes in a 60-37 win over Stetson on Sunday.
Durand Scott chipped in nine points for Miami (7-2), which has won five straight.
Miami went on a 17-3 run in a seven-minute span in the first half to take a 25-14 lead and never looked back. During the pivotal run, Thomas scored eight points including a pair of 3-pointers.
The Hurricanes took a 31-20 lead and opened the second half with a 22-5 run to take a commanding 53-25 advantage following a three-pointer by Rion Brown.
Miami shot 42.3 percent (22 of 52) from the floor compared to Stetson, which shot 41.2 percent (21 of 51).
Miami didn't score a fast-break point but it outscored Stetson 19-6 on second-chance points.
The Hurricanes have won eight straight in the series by an average of 21.3 points.
Stetson (3-5) was led by Ridge Graham, who scored a game-high 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
