How they voted: Badgers in 2015-16 AP basketball poll (Week 15)
The Wisconsin Badgers hadn't gotten a vote in the Associated Press top 25 basketball poll since way back in Week 2. It's amazing what a seven-game win streak and a victory on the road over the then-No. 2 team will do for you.
Thirteen weeks after last appearing in the poll, Wisconsin got 47 votes in the latest top 25, which would rank the Badgers 29th in the country.
With some tough road games in the days and weeks ahead, there's obviously no guarantee that Wisconsin will receive any votes in forthcoming polls. But since UW did garner votes this past week, we thought we'd take a look at the breakdown.
It probably should come as no surprise that the Badgers were mainly ranked in the 20s by the 14 AP voters who put UW on their ballot. But two voters made big jump for Wisconsin, which, as previously mentioned, hadn't received any votes since Week 2 when it appeared on five ballots. One step further: All of the 14 AP voters who had UW ranked this week hadn't put the Badgers on their ballot since Week 1. For two of them -- John Feinstein and Seth Davis -- this is the first time they ranked Wisconsin all season.
In the case of Feinstein, it is interesting that he has the Badgers all the way at No. 19. That's not the highest rank for Wisconsin, though. Chuck McGill has UW at No. 17 (he had the Badgers at No. 24 way back in Week 1).
If Wisconsin keeps getting votes, we'll continue to explore the ballots. For now, here's the Week 15 breakdown:
