Houston passes torch to Minnesota with Super Bowl 'handoff'
Houston is passing the torch -- err, ball -- to Minnesota
From a proclamation issued by governor Mark Dayton declaring Feb. 6-10 "Super Bowl LII Handoff Week," to an official handoff video, the state of Minnesota is on the clock for next year's event.
The official "handoff" took place at a news conference Monday morning, as representatives from Minnesota, Houston and the NFL convened to celebrate the tradition.

The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee has 52 weeks of events planned ahead of the big game, set for Feb. 4, 2018, beginning with a week of celebrations, including a "Celebrate the Bold North" party in front of U.S. Bank Stadium and a rally at Mall of America.
Minneapolis was originally selected to host Super Bowl LII in 2014, beating out Indianapolis and New Orleans.
