Hoosiers name former player Mark Hagen defensive line coach

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Former Indiana linebacker Mark Hagen has returned to his alma mater as defensive line coach.

Hagen was on coach Kevin Wilson's staff in 2011 and 2012 before leaving for Texas A&M, where he spent three seasons coaching linebackers, defensive tackles and serving as defensive coordinator.

As a player, Hagen won four letters, was named to the Big Ten's all-conference team twice, served as a team captain and was the 1991 Copper Bowl defensive MVP. After completing his eligibility, he stayed in Bloomington as a graduate assistant and administrative assistant from 1992-95 for then-coach Bill Mallory.

Hagen spent four seasons at Northern Illinois before moving to Purdue, where he coached defensive tackles, linebackers and served as special teams coordinator from 2000-10.
