He's not gone (yet): Freeman gear curiously added to Braves' clearance sale
A review of the current clearance section of the Atlanta Braves online store at MLB.com reveals some GREAT deals on merchandise for Andrelton Simmons, Jason Heyward, Craig Kimbrel, Justin and B.J. (Melvin) Upton, Evan Gattis, Brian McCann, Dan Uggla and Freddie Freeman.
You know, former Braves! Only thing is, Freeman, who will soon enter the third year of an 8-year, $135 million contract, is still a member of the Atlanta Braves.
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported on Sunday that three different clubs revealed that Atlanta has shopped Freeman. Meanwhile, Braves general manager John Coppolella has denied that the team has engaged in any trade discussions involving Freeman.
Semantics, maybe. Perhaps the proof is in the clearance section.
