Heat will host Spurs as part of 8-game preseason schedule
MIAMI — Get ready for Game 8 between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs.
OK, maybe it won’t be that exciting. But the Heat, who defeated the Spurs in seven games in June to win the NBA title, will be seeing them again in the upcoming preseason. The Heat announced their preseason schedule Friday. It includes an Oct. 19 date with San Antonio at AmericanAirlines Arena. Miami has two other intriguing games on the slate. The Heat will play a home-and-home series with Brooklyn, which hopes to unseat Miami as Eastern Conference champions after acquiring stars Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce earlier this month from Boston. The games are Oct. 17 on the road and Oct. 25 at home.
Of Miami’s eight preseason games, three are at AmericanAirlines Arena. The other one is the opener, Oct. 7 against Atlanta.
The Heat will play only one game at a non-NBA venue. That’s Oct. 11 against Charlotte at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Sun Sports will broadcast four preseason games, which will be announced at a later date.
