Heat begin 2015-16 season against Hornets, visit Cavaliers on Oct. 30
MIAMI, FL -- The Miami HEAT announced its 2015-16 regular season schedule today. The 82-game schedule consists of 41 home dates, all at AmericanAirlines Arena, and 41 road contests, and runs from October 28, 2015 through April 13, 2016. FOX Sports Sun, the exclusive regional television partner of the Miami HEAT, will air all games available for local broadcast which will amount to 79 games in total. The HEAT will make 20 national television appearances, including three exclusive broadcasts on ABC (1) and TNT (2). In addition, ESPN is scheduled to broadcast eight HEAT games and NBA TV has scheduled coverage on nine games. The Miami HEAT Radio Network, led by its flagship station 104.3 FM - The Ticket, will carry all of the team's games in English, while Univision Radio's Radio Mambi (710 AM) or Mix 98.3 FM (regular season conflict games) will broadcast each regular season game in Spanish. Additional broadcast schedule information, including preseason coverage, will be available at a later date.
Miami kicks off its 28th season when it hosts the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, October 28 (7:30PM). This marks the 20th time in franchise history that the HEAT will open the season at home, and the first time it will face Charlotte on opening night. The HEAT begins the season with three of its first four games at home. Miami plays its first road contest on Friday, October 30 at Cleveland (7PM) and also concludes the regular season with a game at Boston on April 13 (8PM).
The schedule features several exciting match-ups, including a visit by the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors on February 24 at 7:30PM. For the 12th time overall and the 11th time in the last 12 years, the HEAT will play on Christmas Day as they play host to Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans in a 12PM nationally televised game on ESPN. The HEAT will also play on New Year's Day for the sixth time in team history, and the first time since the 2011-12 season, when they host the Dallas Mavericks at 7:30PM. The Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland Cavaliers visit Miami twice, on December 5 at 7:30PM and March 19 at 7:30PM.
This year's schedule features 38 of the 82 games played on weekends (Friday through Sunday). Of those weekend games, 16 will be played in Miami (four on Friday, four on Saturday and eight on Sunday). The HEAT's longest homestand will be a seven-game stretch from November 8-23. Miami's longest stretch of road games is a six-game trip, from January 8-17. Additionally, the HEAT will play 17 sets of back-to-back games, the same as the last two seasons. The month in which Miami plays the highest number of games is January, when the HEAT hits the hardwood 17 times. November will be the month in which the HEAT plays its most home contests, with 10 of its 14 games in AmericanAirlines Arena. The most road games Miami will play in a month is 12, which they do in January.
A limited number of Miami HEAT Season Tickets are available for sale for the upcoming 2015-16 season. Starting tonight, HEAT fans can purchase tickets from HEAT Season Ticket Holders via the NBA Resale Marketplace by logging on to HEAT.com. Group Tickets are also currently on sale. All You Can HEAT Partial Plans will go on sale Monday, August 17th. And on Friday, August 21st, the general public can purchase single game tickets by logging on to HEAT.com beginning at 10AM.
