Grizzlies PG Mike Conley to undergo season-ending surgery on left heel

Mike Conley will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season due to small bone protrusion in his left heel that required surgery. The season-ending injury guarantees the Memphis Grizzlies' veteran point guard will play the fewer than 53 games for the first time since becoming the fourth overall pick in the 2007 draft.

Conley, 30, averaged 17.1 points and 4.1 assists in 12 games this season, though he's been inactive since Nov. 15.

He is expected to make a full recovery in advance of the team's preseason training camp next summer.
