Gray replaces outgoing Akina as Texas DB coach

Jerry Gray is coming back home to the 40 Acres.

The former University of Texas defensive back, who has spent the past decade coaching in the NFL, was hired today as the Longhorns' defensive backs coach.

The move comes just one day after Duane Akina left Austin to take a similar job at the University of Arizona, where he previously was an assistant coach for 14 seasons. Akina had served on Mack Brown
