Grant Long joins FSD as analyst, reporter

FOX Sports Detroit is thrilled to announce the addition of former National Basketball Association player Grant Long as an analyst and reporter for the 2014-15 season.

Long's 15-year NBA career included stints with the Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics and Vancouver/Memphis Grizzlies. He completed his NBA career in 2003 with 9,518 total points and 6,154 total rebounds.

Long, a three-time Emmy winner with FOX Sports Oklahoma, joins FOX Sports Detroit after serving as an analyst for Oklahoma City Thunder telecasts.

"I'm happy to be joining the FOX Sports Detroit team," Long said. "It's a thrill to be covering the team I grew up watching and my family has been a part of for a few generations."

FOX Sports Detroit will broadcast 80 regular-season games and one preseason game this season, with pre- and post-game shows for each telecast. Long will be reporting during the game as well as providing analysis as part of Pistons Live.

"All of us at FOX Sports Detroit are excited to welcome Grant to our Pistons broadcasting team," said Greg Hammaren, senior vice president and general manager of FOX Sports Detroit. "His unique perspective of the NBA and the players will serve Pistons fans well. Grant's addition is another example of our commitment to always improve and bring Pistons fans our best effort."

Long will make his on-air debut during Sunday's preseason game at the Washington Wizards.
