Gomer Homer: Yan goes yard in first at-bat back for Indians
Welcome back, Yan Gomes!
In the third inning on Sunday, in his first at-bat since returning from injury, the Indians catcher turned on Ian Kennedy's first offering and drove it into the left-field bullpen, giving the Tribe an early 2-1 lead over the Royals.
It was the 9th home run of what has been a trying season for Gomes.
Upon returning to the dugout, he couldn't help but feel a little elated, toss his helmet up in celebration, and let out a nice "Wooo!"
Gomes's status for the postseason has not yet been announced as of Sunday's game.
