Gautam Gambir quits as captain of IPL's Delhi Daredevils
NEW DELHI (AP) Gautam Gambhir has stepped down as captain of IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils after his team lost five of its first six matches.
Gambhir says he is quitting because he could not handle the pressure of the job. He has been replaced by 23-year-old Shreyas Aiyer, but he will continue to be a part of the team.
Delhi Daredevils have slid to last in the table.
Gambhir says ''I was sitting alone and thinking, I couldn't handle the pressure ... I was not good enough and that is all.''
