Fun facts about players on the 2019 Milwaukee Brewers
Spring training is underway and shortly the regular season will begin. With that will come the inundation of statistics — batting average, home runs, ERA, etc.
Since you’ll be getting enough baseball stats about the Milwaukee Brewers to fill any void you might have, we thought we’d take a look at the lighter side of things.
We scoured through the Brewers media guide and came up with some different and interesting facts about a number of players (note: we have no repeat facts from last year's edition of fun facts or even 2017). While your friends are dishing out Christian Yelich's MVP numbers or Josh Hader's strikeouts from last year, you can enlighten them on which players has brothers who were once in the Brewers' organization, who was a classmate of Jabari Parker, how the nicknames "Bubba" and "Tuffy" came to be and more.

Chase Anderson: Has three dogs -- a golden doodle (Jack), Pomeranian (Cami) and shih tzu (Toby).

Ben Gamel: Is the younger brother of former Brewers infielder Mat Gamel (2008-12).
Tuffy Gosewisch: Was dubbed "Tuffy" by his father due to his rambunctious nature as a 6-month-old child.
Yasmani Grandal: Finished second to Bryce Harper for the 2010 Golden Spikes Award.
Jeremy Jeffress: Was Baseball America's eight-best high school prospect entering his senior season.
Erik Kratz: Became the second-oldest position player to start in his postseason debut, behind Lave Cross (39) with the Philadelphia Athletics in 1905.
Mike Moustakas: His uncle, Tom Robson, was a first baseman with Texas from 1974-75, and also coached with Texas, New York-NL, Cincinnati and the Chiba Lotte Marines (Japan).
Corey Ray: Graduated from Simeon Career Academy in Chicago, where he was classmates with NBA player Jabari Parker.
Tyler Saladino: Named 2008 Pacific Coast Conference Player of the Year with Palomar (Calif.) College in 2008 and Summit League Conference Player of the Year in 2010 at Oral Roberts.
Travis Shaw: Is a fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes.
Cory Spangenberg: His all-time favorite baseball player is Ken Griffey Jr.
Troy Stokes Jr.: Won the 55-meter dash during the MIAA championships as a junior at Calvert Hall College (Md.) High School.
Aaron Wilkerson: Set NAIA records for consecutive scoreless innings (54) and consecutive victories (26) while at Cumberland (Tenn.) University.
Christian Yelich: His maternal great grandfather, Fred Gehrke, a former NFL running back, is credited with designing the iconic Los Angeles Rams horn logo on the team’s helmet ... Gehrke is also credited with developing the first full facemask used on a football helmet.
